7 Mile Walk with Christ

Okay, I haven't tried this out. You might think I'm that diligent on walking long distance... enk! no!
I got this from Luke 24:13-29. Three days after the crucifixion
of Christ two of his disciples got the news that the tomb was found empty. They ran to check it on their own and walked dismayed on what they saw. While walking towards Emmaus, Jesus came out walking and talked with them in the open field. But they didn't realized they were facing Jesus because their eyes were closed.

Studying through this, I gained a new angle of praying.
  • As we walk by faith, we will have a person beside us whom we can share our thoughts with. In this case, both of them (the followers) talked about something they both know (see verse 14). They talked about Jesus.
  • When we talk about Jesus, verse 15 says "suddenly, Jesus himself came along and joined them and began walking beside them"
Here are some insights I learned about Jesus:
  • He is interested with our day-to-day convo with people. Look at verse 17 on how He asks them "what are you discussing about?", "what are you so concerned about?"
  • He listens. Just tell everything to him even though he already know what your saying. He wants to engage in a communication with you. If not, he won't be approaching these men and walk the mile with them in the first place, right?
  • Focus on Him and not on our distress. The two disciples' eyes were closed the whole time. They did talked about Jesus but focused on what they feel, their emotions at the moment. We will not see Jesus when we are too focused on our distress.
